Tag

Corrosive challenge: Anything goes

Anything goes

Anything goes - a typical theme for challenges these days. For the first time ever, I have tried Mixed Media and I think anything goes fits well here. You use what you got-anything goes.
In search for inspiration I have visited many blogs and seen many videos on You Tube. There are so many talented people out there, and I feel that I am not a very creative person. I have always liked best to follow recipes, whether it comes to cooking, building Lego or making cards. I want the overall picture first. Therefore I have found lovely cards on blogs that I have been inspired by. But, and there is a but, I felt it was a bit embarrassing. All until I found a lovely lady on You Tube. She makes lots of videos on how she does various art and she is very clear: you have to start creating and in the beginning it is all fine to copy. I take her word for it. She makes the most wonderful things and she is very entertaining to watch.
With this as a background, I started to create this card as I watched her do hers on the video. I guess she has got a bit more equipment and stash than me, but I used whatever I could find that was similar. In the end, I was quite pleased with the result. So pleased I gave it to my daughter for her birthday today. I asked her if she liked it. She answered yes, but it wasn't so nice on the backside:-) I used the packaging on some products I bought and this had some writing on the backside. I explained it is all about recycling:-)

I used scrap paper and gesso. I have only one stencil, so I used that. I think a compass really fits for a young girl, it is all about finding the best way to go. The small rocks are the type I use to put candles on - all I had. I don't have much chipboard, but used what I got. The butterfly got a bit of glitter spray- much nicer in reality than on the photo.

So why do I write all this? Mainly for myself. It is ok to get inspiration, it is ok to try with the stuff you got and the main thing - create.
Thank you, Marta ( Maremi's Small Art) for the inspiration you give.
